Electronic Sex Offender Registration & Notification (eSORN)
This database is linked to all 88 of Ohio’s sheriff’s offices and all 32 correctional facility records offices operated by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. The purpose of eSORN is to provide one location for all of Ohio’s law enforcement officials to freely share information on registered sex offenders. Some portions of this database are also open to private citizens who want to be aware of sex offenders who live close to their home or their child’s school.
Franklin County Victim Witness Assistance Unit
The Victim Witness Assistance Unit was created in 1975 to provide information regarding the practices and procedures of the criminal justice system to victims and/or witnesses. The unit assists victims, witnesses, and the Assistant Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney assigned to the cases.
Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE)
VINE is a fully automated program that is used to notify all registered users as to when an offender’s status is changed. VINE can be used to inform those registered by telephone, email, or pager. VINE helps by relaying an offender’s sentence expiration date, inmate custody status and location, as well as notifications on the transfer, release, escape, or death of an inmate. All telephone calls and registrations are anonymous, confidential, and free.
