Bring your books, DVD movies, and/or Music CDs and recycle them for different ones in our annual swap. This event is open to all ages, so join in and discover new books, movies, and music to take home and enjoy.
Saturday, February 9
Drop: 9:30-10 a.m.
Swap: 10-11 a.m.
Dublin Community Recreation Center
What is it?
This event is an opportunity for participants to recycle their used books, DVDs, or music CDs that are still in good condition in exchange for others. Participants can expect to receive one book for every book turned in, one DVD for every DVD turned in, and one music CD for every CD turned in at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC).
How does it work?
Drop off your books, DVD’s, and/or music CDs at the Dublin Community Recreation Center on Saturday, February 9 between 9:30 – 10 a.m. and receive a ticket redeemable for the swap. Once everything is set up, participants have the opportunity to come back in at 10 a.m. and redeem their tickets for other books, movies, and/or music.
How do I know if my materials qualify for the swap?
Books must be in good and readable condition. Books should not be missing any pages and the cover should be intact. DVDs and music CDs must be fully operable and in their original case. DVDs & CDs with scratches, that will not play or that do not have a case will not be accepted. We will not accept VHS tapes. All decisions made by DCRC staff regarding materials brought in are final.
How does the exchange take place?
The materials are arranged by sections (ie: children’s, teens, adults) and will be on display beginning at 10 a.m. for those with tickets. All selections are first come, first serve. After making your selection, take your materials to the check out desk and a staff member will count your materials and collect your ticket.
Miscellaneous information
The City of Dublin Recreation Services is not responsible for the content of the materials collected. Since we receive hundreds of items, it is the participant’s responsibility to monitor appropriateness of the materials they select. Although we will attempt to display books by theme and age appropriateness, we cannot account for inaccurate covers or material on the DVDs and CDs. Please screen all selections according to your own standards.
