Congratulations to the City of Dublin Fleet for completing its fleet management program by obtaining the Certified Fleet Management Operation (CFMO) Award. The Government Fleet Management Alliance (GFMA), which awards the CFMO, announced that Dublin became certified in November.
After 2 years of working toward the certification, Dublin Fleet team has been recognized as a Certified Fleet Management Operation (CFMO). Dublin is one of 22 cities in the country to receive this prestigious certification. To be recognized, departments must meet 120 specific certification criteria addressing 20 critical areas of fleet management and means that a Fleet is cost effective, efficient, competitive and well managed.
Since 2012 the city has been evaluating the utilization and replacement policies for its fleet. Using the data collected over this time, the Fleet Management department was able to see which units were underutilized and either placed them in areas that needed additional vehicles or sold them. This has reduced the City’s vehicle count by 5% over the last 2 years.
