The Use of Shadow and Sunscreens

There is great opportunity to enrich a façade by using shadows and solar shading. Projections and recesses on the façade can create interesting patterns. Sun screens and deep roof overhangs can reduce the amount of energy a building uses and can effectively create architectural lines that increase the contemporary appearance of a building.
