Trees are an important part of our environment. And reliable, safe electricity is vital for our homes and businesses. Tree lines that come in contact with power lines are the most common cause of brief and prolonged power outages, especially during storms.
Tree trimming maintains safe and reliable electric service
Every few years, AEP Ohio identifies areas of the City where tree limbs need to be trimmed and trees near power lines that cannot be trimmed should be considered for removal. AEP has begun work in the southern portion of Dublin and will continue in other areas of the City during 2013. Please see map for identified work areas.
What you need to know:
- Prior to work in your area, AEP will hang a yellow flyer on your door to notify you of work on or near your property.
- AEP will identify trees to be trimmed or removed with colored dots. Trees with blue dots will be trimmed, red dots mean removal.
- AEP will clean up the area by chipping small branches and brush. Tree trunks and limbs will be left on the property as firewood for your use or your disposal (free firewood for your fireplace or outdoor fire pit).
- AEP staff will stop by to explain the line clearance work required for your property. You can direct all questions to the AEP staff member in your neighborhood.
