Letters of support for U.S. 33/ S.R. 161/Post Road Interchange Funding Ends September 16, 2016
The City of Dublin is calling upon area residents, corporate citizens and other U.S. 33/ S.R. 161/Post Road stakeholders to express your support of funding from the Transportation Review Advisory Council (TRAC) of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC).
This rural interchange is at the center of substantial local and regional economic development. Current and future growth is putting enormous pressure on this inadequate facility, and the current design does not meet the diverse vehicular needs of this thriving area..
The US 33/SR 161/Post Road interchange is ready for construction, with the significant investment and project development assistance of Union County and the City of Dublin. The project is currently in the design phase and construction is tentatively planned to begin in 2020.
This project will include two new loop ramps that will eliminate the existing left turn conflicts to enter the U.S. 33 ramps. The intersections with both the east and west ramp terminals will be controlled via multi-lane roundabouts that will ensure viable traffic operations well into the future. Union County and the City of Dublin are requesting $18.53 million from MORPC and $20.68 million in TRAC funds for construction.
