The flip-flops that Angie Smith wears to work most days at Cardinal Health’s new Fuse technology laboratory are more about safety than a fashion statement.
“I only spend about a quarter of the time as I used to on the computer; now, I just walk over and talk to people instead of emailing them,” she said. “I can’t wear my heels anymore; I’d break my ankle with all the walking I do here.”
Getting Fuse’s techies together in small, informal groups to share ideas and create software products is the goal of the new center in Dublin’s Shoppes at River Ridge retail center. Previously, these tasks were spread out within several departments on Cardinal’s nearby corporate campus.
