(Dublin, OH) – Dublin City Manager Marsha Grigsby announced today that she will retire January 30, 2015.
“Personally, I feel the time is right. There are always dynamic projects on the horizon in the City of Dublin, so there really isn’t an opportune time to choose to leave,” she said.
“As a team, we’ve accomplished much. And because of each and every employee in our organization, the City of Dublin is poised to continue down the path of success,” Grigsby said.
“We have a talented team, effective systems in place and unparalleled city services and programs,” she said. “I’ve been honored to serve Dublin for 25 years – along with city council members, fellow employees and board and commission members. Because of their commitment along with the engagement of our residents and corporate citizens, the City of Dublin is poised to continue down the path of success,” Grigsby said.
Mayor Michael Keenan said that Grigsby will be missed for many reasons, especially her ethics, professionalism and integrity. “As the long-time Director of Finance, Marsha’s input was extremely valued by our community and past city councils. Our current council has appreciated the benefits of Marsha’s leadership, professionalism, attention to detail and institutional knowledge,” Keenan said. “For many of us, she’s been the go-to-person when we want something accomplished,” he said.
Before becoming Dublin’s fourth City Manager, Marsha served as a three-time interim City Manager. She joined the City of Dublin as the Assistant Finance Director in September 1989 and was promoted to Director of Finance in June 1991. This September will mark Marsha’s 25 years of public service to the City of Dublin.
Dublin City Council will soon begin to evaluate the selection process for choosing Dublin’s fifth City Manager. “Marsha will serve as City Manager for seven more months, allowing City Council ample time to discuss the most effective process and to choose the best candidate for our community,” Keenan said.
