(DUBLIN, Ohio) — Dublin has been named one of the safest cities in Ohio, and the nation – again. A survey released by SafeWise this week shows Dublin as the 12th safest city in Ohio. SafeWise officials said they based the survey results on 2011 FBI crime statistics, population and “other ranking factors, like unique safety initiatives and security programs implemented within the past few years.” For details on the survey go to www.safewise.com/blog/50-safest-cities-ohio
Dublin is also ranked as one of the safest 100 cities in America. This ranking is based on a study completed by NeighborhoodScout. Information on the national rankings can be found at: www.neighborhoodscout.com/neighborhoods/crime-rates/top100safest
From 2007 to the end of 2012, Dublin crime has been reduced significantly. During this time period: all thefts are down 24.7%, burglaries are down 30.9 percent, and all Part I crimes are down 28 percent.
