(Dublin, OH) – The Dublin Division of Police is issuing an advisory due to a recent rash of thefts from vehicles. Thieves have targeted a variety of areas, but have focused on apartment complexes, often during the late-night hours (10 p.m. – 4 a.m.). In a 14-day time span (July 23-August 5), there were 16 reported thefts from vehicles. Police ask that residents remember two basic steps. One, remove all valuables from vehicles; this includes GPS devices and bookbags, which have been a recent favorite of thieves. Two, be sure to lock the vehicles.
Dublin Police released these recommendations and other tips on how not to become a target, as well as a map showing locations of the recent thefts. Police note, though, that public involvement is key. If anyone has information about the thefts, or notices suspicious activity in Dublin please contact the Dublin Division of Police at 614.889.1112.
