(DUBLIN, Ohio) – The Dublin Division of Police was awarded on Saturday, March 24 with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies’ (CALEA) highest honor, the Advanced Law Enforcement Accreditation with Excellence Award.
The Dublin Division of Police was initially accredited in 1990 and was designated a Flagship Agency in 2006 and 2009.
The Advanced Law Enforcement Accreditation with Excellence Award reflects the agency’s leadership in development and implementation of contemporary policies and procedures, enhancing the professional standing of public safety, and the review and analysis of organizational data for the purpose of public safety service improvement. Police continually uses the standards provided by CALEA to enhance public safety services for the City.
In October 2011, assessors from CALEA spent four days conducting interviews with the Dublin community and police staff. The assessors also spent hours reviewing police policies and procedures. After this thorough review of the agency, the assessors recommended this distinction.
