The City has a curb to curb snow removal policy. Dangerous hills, curves, and bridges are monitored and treated as necessary throughout an event. All public streets within Dublin receive snow removal service according to a priority system established based on traffic volumes and speeds. Click here to learn more about the priority system.
Ice and freezing rain conditions complicate the City’s snow response. These conditions are extremely variable and crews work to adapt to the changing conditions throughout the course of the event. The City pre-treats roads ahead of a known snow or ice event. Priority is given to hills, bridges and culverts and then to streets themselves according to the priority system.
Residents are required to keep their sidewalks, curbs and gutters in repair and free of snow, ice, debris and obstructions. Depositing snow or ice on any public sidewalk, street, bike path, road or highway is not permitted. The City does clear sidewalks adjacent to City facilities and City-owned properties.
Recreation paths that have been determined high-traffic routes for schools are cleared first, followed by paths used for recreational use.
Get up-to-the-minute information on which Dublin streets have been treated with SnowGo. This GPS-based system is activated during each snow event. Residents and visitors can search the map by address to check recent activity on a specific street.
Dublin Police remind drivers to be extra cautious in snowy or icy conditions. Stay off the roads during winter weather events if possible. If you must go out, give yourself extra time and drive slowly. Give yourself plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you so you don’t slide into the back of another vehicle when you brake.
Residents can assist the snow plowing process in several ways:
- Do not shovel or plow snow into City streets.
- Do not shovel or plow snow into driveway aprons.
- Do not shovel or plow snow around fire hydrants or mailboxes.
- Keep distance from the snow plows.
- Keep children away from snow plows
- Remove parked cars from the street.
- Do not attempt to pass a snow plow.
