Event Theme Is “Shining Stars and Stripes”
(DUBLIN, Ohio) – The band Earth, Wind & Fire will headline the City of Dublin Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 4 at the Dublin Coffman High School stadium.
Hailed as one of the most successful and critically acclaimed bands of the twentieth century, Earth, Wind & Fire has captivated sellout crowds for more than 40 years with their elaborate stage shows. Earth, Wind & Fire was founded by Maurice White in 1970. Original members currently on tour include Phillip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson. This Grammy award-winning powerhouse has received 20 Grammy nominations and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With more than 90 million records sold, the band just released its 20th studio album titled, Now, Then and Forever.
The band is known for many hits including; “Shining Star,” “Fantasy,” “Devotion,” “September,” “Let’s Groove,” and “Boogie Wonderland” to name a few.
Dublin residents may purchase reserved on-field tables of ten on Wednesday, May 7 at 7:30 a.m. at the Dublin Community Recreation Center. Proof of City of Dublin residency is required with a limit of two tables per household. If tables are still available, they will go on sale to the general public on Monday, June 2. Free seating is available in the bleachers at the stadium on a first-come, first-served basis. No tickets are required for bleacher seating.

The 2014 Independence Day Celebration theme is “Shining Stars and Stripes”. The event is set for Friday, July 4 at the Dublin Coffman High School stadium. The 29th Annual Sherm Sheldon Fishing Derby kicks off the daylong celebration at 8 a.m., followed by the annual parade at 11 a.m., and the Skyhoundz Hyperflite Canine Frisbee Disc Championship at 5 p.m. The Celebration at the stadium begins at 4:30 p.m., followed by an impressive display of fireworks and the Grand Finale at 9:50 p.m.
