(DUBLIN, Ohio) – The City of Dublin is hosting the Growing Green in Dublin Expo from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 23 at the Dublin Community Recreation Center, 5600 Post Road.
Expo topics and exhibits include the Right Tree Right Place Program, recycling, plants that flourish in Dublin, stormwater management and understanding Dublin’s wildlife.
“We encourage residents and businesses to plant the right tree, recycle the right things and take the right action,” said Mime Migliore, nature education coordinator.
Residents can win a free tree, a tour of the Ohio Wildlife Center and much more.
Household Hazardous Waste
Additionally, the annual Household Hazardous Waste event will be held from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at Ashland Inc., 5200 Blazer Pkwy. Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) will be collecting all household hazardous waste except latex/water base paint, and Operation Feed will be collecting canned food items and monetary donations. AMVETS will be available to collect clothing (men, women and children), shoes (no boots), all bedding items (no mattresses), draperies and curtains, housewares and glassware, linens, and radios and other small appliances.
Possitivity also will be at Household Hazardous Waste to collect e-waste items, including computers, LCD monitors, laptops, printers, cell phones, fax machines and PDAs. CRT monitors and televisions can be recycled for a fee. CRT monitors are $15 and televisions are $25. Monitors and televisions with cracked glass or televisions in wood consoles are not accepted.
