Changes are in place at the intersection of John Shields Parkway and Dale Drive. Earlier this year, the east leg of the intersection opened from Dale Drive to Village Parkway near the rear of the AMC Dublin Village 18 Theater, completing the connection from Riverside Drive to Village Parkway. With this change, the balance of traffic at the intersection has changed, with John Shields Parkway now having the dominant volume of traffic. Detailed analysis confirmed that the STOP control at the intersection should change from John Shields Parkway stopping for Dale Drive (current regulation) to Dale Drive stopping for John Shields Parkway.
In order to provide time for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists to get used to the change, the City will implement an ALL-WAY STOP for a period of two weeks beginning June 15, 2017. At the end of the two-week transition period, the STOP signs will be removed from John Shields Parkway. Signage will be in place during the interim and permanent conditions directing drivers of the appropriate stopping patterns.
Here is a recap of the intersection changes:
- Prior to June 15: John Shields Parkway traffic stops for Dale Drive; Dale Drive has right of way
- June 15 – June 29: An ALL-WAY STOP condition will be in place
- After June 29: Dale Drive traffic stops for John Shields Parkway; John Shields Parkway has right of way
