(Dublin, OH) – The City of Dublin will open its 16th roundabout Tuesday, November 12, 2013 between 4 and 5 p.m. The roundabout at Brand Road and Coffman Road near Dublin Coffman High School has been under construction since late August. The roundabout was constructed by contractor George J. Igel Company, Inc.
According to data by the City of Dublin Division of Engineering, area roundabouts improve overall safety and improve traffic flow. The three roundabouts carrying the most traffic in the City are at Muirfield Drive & Brand Road, Dublin Road & Brand Road, and Avery-Muirfield Drive & Post Road. Crash history shows an overall crash reduction at all three major intersections where roundabouts have been installed. Crashes resulting in an injury at these locations has been reduced by more than 60%.
