(Dublin OH) – The City of Dublin received nine Voice of the People Awards for Excellence at a Celebration of Service reception at the International City/County Management Association annual conference in Boston Sept. 23.
Dublin was recognized for:
- Recycling services
- Refuse collection
- Police services
- Fire services
- Recreation programs
- Street repair
- Code enforcement
- Overall quality of city services
The awards are based on results from the National Citizen Survey, a tool that enables local governments to gather high-value citizen data to inform budgeting, goal setting, performance measurement, and program planning.
“We would not have won these awards or received this recognition without the outstanding work that our employees perform on a daily basis,” said City Manager Marsha Grigsby. “The highest compliment we, as civil servants, can receive is validation from our residents.”
The National Citizen Survey, developed by the International City/County Management Association and the National Research Center, was conducted in 2012 to assess citizen satisfaction with community amenities and governmental services, and compare those responses with satisfaction rates in other communities. Dublin was one of 12 communities with the highest rated services according to a representative sample of residents and had a service quality rating that was in the top three among all eligible jurisdictions.
