The 2007 Community Plan is the City’s primary guide to assess the location, character and extent of proposed public and private development. Spanning over three years of public input and analysis, the Plan’s policies and recommendations are designed to foster both short and long-term choices that ensure resources are used wisely, provide for strong legal support, and establish consistency in decision-making in a comprehensive and coordinated manner.
Special Projects is currently undertaking an amendment of the Community Plan. Since its adoption in December 2007, a variety of new planning initiatives, development projects, and changing trends warrant consideration as part of an interim update to the Community Plan. As the five-year anniversary of the Plan’s adoption approaches, this is an appropriate time to address these items by formally amending the document. This project also provides an opportunity to create a web-based version of the Plan, allowing for more efficient and timely maintenance of content during future updates.
