City of Dublin Announces 2025 Independence Day Grand Marshal

(Dublin, Ohio) — The City of Dublin is proud to announce Bonnie Gamary as the 2025 Independence Day Grand Marshal. Former City of Dublin Grand Marshals selected Bonnie for her commitment to the Dublin community for more than 28 years. With this honor, she will preside over the Independence Day Parade and Evening Celebration.

Bonnie served for 38 years in the Air National Guard, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. She spent 35 years as an educator alongside her military career, including time at Dublin Scioto High School. She now works at The Ohio State University, preparing the next generation of teachers.

Bonnie and her husband, Glenn, moved to Dublin in 1997 to raise their daughters, Kirsten and Delanie, in a vibrant community with excellent schools. She is also a proud grandmother of Shepard Rock. Her family regularly serves at City events including the Dublin Irish Festival, St. Patrick’s Day and the Independence Day Celebration.

She remains active in many community organizations, currently serving as president of the Dublin Lions Club, a member of the Dublin Veterans Committee, American Legion Post 800 and the board of the Central Ohio Folds of Honor Chapter. She also regularly volunteers at the Dublin Food Pantry and co-leads the Purple Star Club at Dublin Scioto High School, which supports military-connected students.

Military Commitment Day was established in May 2018 under Bonnie’s leadership and advocacy. It is a formal event that honors students’ decisions to enlist, highlighting their dedication to serving the Nation and reinforcing the value of all post-graduation pathways.

The Grand Marshal honor is bestowed annually upon an individual or couple who has made a significant contribution to the City of Dublin through volunteer or professional efforts and has demonstrated patriotism through the development of community and/or community values.
