Fill-A-Cruiser Holiday Toy Drive

(Dublin, Ohio) — For the fifth year, the Dublin Police Department is collecting donated toys for local kids who may otherwise not receive a gift this holiday season. The Fill-A-Cruiser toy drive is in partnership with the Get Behind the Badge initiative directed at helping families of first responders in need.

Those who want to participate in this year’s Fill-A-Cruiser event may drop off unwrapped gifts at the Dublin Justice Center (6565 Commerce Parkway) between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. Donations can be made from their vehicles as there will be a drive-thru area outside the Justice Center.

To help all age groups, community members are asked to donate presents for children in two age categories: newborn-10 years and 11-17 years old. Gift cards are also accepted and can make enjoyable gifts for young adults. Additionally, Get Behind the Badge uses gift cards to purchase clothing and other items needed for winter.

“We’re grateful to our generous Dublin community for their continued support of this program and the need it serves,” says Chief Páez. “We also extend a huge thank-you to Get Behind the Badge for their efforts to ensure first responder families and local kids in need won’t be forgotten this holiday season.”

Last year’s Fill-A-Cruiser event benefited more than 160 families. Additional cash and gift card donations were used to purchase winter coats and other clothing items for more than 100 kids.
