It’s Halloween at the Dublin Community Recreation Center and you’re invited! The Recreation Center has come up with a plethora of safe, merry-not-scary experiences that are fun for the whole family.
There’s something for everyone at the DCRC to get into the spooky spirit! Check out the following experiences and plan your Halloween extravaganza.
Can You Solve the Mystery?
Discover clues, solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks within the confines of the Coffman Park Art Barn before the 45-minute time limit runs out. Each escape session is set up for 10 participants, so please only register for one session time. Do you think you have what it takes to escape the Art Barn Escape Room?

Transform a pumpkin into a “Boo-tiful” Halloween decoration for your family! All ages can attend Pumpkin Creations at the Coffman Park Art Stable from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wedensday, Oct. 21. Advanced registration is required.
Be a kid again and decorate a pumpkin (paint or carve) to take home and display this Halloween. Join us on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Coffman Pavilion for Make It/Take in the Park: Pumpkin Creations. Individuals ages 18+ can participate for $10/person and advanced registration is required to maintain safety protocol, and all supplies and materials are included.
Members of the DCSC can join the Dublin Community Recreation Center for Pumpkin Patch from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22. DCSC members may take home their pumpkins to display or enter their creation into the DCSC Pumpkin Patch Contest. All supplies and materials are included, and contest information will be provided during the Oct. 22 program. Advanced registration is required to maintain safety protocol, DCSC members can call 614-410-4550 or register online.
You can have your treats and enjoy them too! Join the DCRC for Boo at the Barre on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Coffman Pavilion. This class is $10/person (ages 18+) or included with a group fitness pass. Advance registration is required!
Grab your bike and light up Dublin green with a bike ride around Coffman Park and along the neighboring bike paths surrounding the Recreation Center. This family-friendly Glow Roll is FREE to participate, but advanced registration is required to maintain safety protocol. We provide the glow…you provide the roll (bike that is!). This program is geared for all ages: children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Each time block allows for nine riders.
Abbey Theater of Dublin Productions
The Abbey Theater of Dublin continues its Virtual Theatre Project this month with two special performances that are sure to get you in the fall mood.
“Aliens, 3 Miles, Turn Left” will premiere online at 7 p.m. from Oct. 16-18 and 22-25. When you purchase a $5 ticket for your household you will receive a special link to view the performance for a couple days starting the night of the performance you purchase. So you can enjoy the show on your own time! This production is suited for all ages and features a man sitting at home who imagines being interviewed by Oprah while watching tv. He talks about his mundane life, marriage, job…and an alien encounter!
Now for a play you can really sink your teeth into, “Dracula for Kids” rounds out the October Virtual Theatre Project shows. This FREE performance will be stream on the City of Dublin’s Facebook at 7 p.m. on Oct. 23. This family-friendly mini-melodramatic virtual masterpiece is sure to spark a love of classic literature!
Throw a Private Halloween-Themed Pool Party
Sea creatures abound! Gather your water-loving “merpeople” and throw a fun Halloween-themed pool party at the Dublin Community Recreation Center! Check out the DCRC’s Pool Party Packages online. Available Saturdays and Sundays with COVID-19 precautions in place. Book yours today and enjoy private access to the DCRC Indoor Leisure Pool and your own private party room for up to 10 people for 2.5 hours. Party supplies and balloons are included! You bring the food and the guests — we do the rest! Only $75 for Dublin Residents; $150 for School-District/Non-Residents.
You can also celebrate Halloween in the City of Dublin at the annual Halloween Spooktacular event and Trick-or-Treat night.
