(Dublin, Ohio) As more businesses are working from home, companies are challenged with finding new ways to support their employees’ physical and mental wellbeing through unique programming opportunities that align with their team’s culture and busy schedules. To help address this concern, the City of Dublin is partnering with The Ohio State University to sponsor a series of FREE wellness classes to Dublin businesses and their employees.
The FitBiz Winter Wellness Series offers 30-minute sessions designed to educate and inspire Dublin’s workforce. To kick off a new year, the first five classes are free and provide a sample of the types of wellness programs the City has to offer to area businesses. With four free classes remaining, the City is encouraging businesses and organizations in Dublin to share the registration information and class details with their employees.
These virtual classes are in conjunction with the City’s innovative FitBiz corporate wellness program, which provides programs and services focused on fostering physical and mental health to local businesses. To date, the program has served nearly 20 area businesses with custom solutions to fit the needs and goals of the company and its employees. This new Winter Wellness initiative marks the first time the City of Dublin has partnered with The Ohio State University to offer corporate wellness programming free to Dublin businesses.
“We are proud to join The Ohio State University in serving Dublin’s corporate residents and providing wellness services,” said City of Dublin Recreation Services Administrator Mollie Steiner. “Dublin is committed to continually striving to improve the health of our community in unique and exciting ways.”
The City of Dublin’s FitBiz Winter Wellness series will offer a free yoga class on Feb. 18 and a cardio bootcamp class on March 11. The Ohio State University’s Health Plan and Wexner Medical Center joins the Winter Wellness series to offer educational presentations about meal planning, nutrition and relaxation developed by OSU health coaches. Local companies can view the complete schedule and share the information with their employees to pre-register for the sessions.
After participating in the Winter Wellness Series’ free offerings, businesses have the option to choose from a menu of programs to fit their current wellness strategy, including virtual options for their employees who are working from home. The City of Dublin can also work directly with businesses to develop a comprehensive plan that suits their staff’s needs. Programs such as fitness classes, educational seminars and health coaching are led by nationally certified trainers and instructors, registered dietitians and experienced health professionals.
Corporate wellness programs have been proven to foster a more positive workplace culture, attract workforce, retain employees and directly impact the organization’s bottom line through fewer sick days and lower medical costs. Healthy employees are more productive and have higher job satisfaction.
