(Dublin, OH) Dublin City Council is recognizing Cardinal Health with a proclamation in honor of the company’s 50th anniversary. Founded in 1971, Cardinal Health is headquartered in Dublin and is Ohio’s largest publicly traded company.
Not only is Cardinal Health the city’s top employer, it has played a significant role in elevating Dublin’s global reputation, particularly in the health care sector. The company employs nearly 50,000 people worldwide and serves more than 29,000 pharmacies and more than 10,000 specialty physician offices and clinics in the U.S.
Mayor Chris Amorose Groomes, on behalf of Dublin City Council, issued a proclamation at the April 12, 2021, City Council meeting, acknowledging Cardinal Health as an outstanding corporate citizen. The proclamation congratulated Founder Robert D. Walter, CEO Mike Kaufmann and the employees of Cardinal Health on the company’s 50th anniversary.
“We appreciate your recognizing Cardinal Health as the company celebrates its history of service to health care, to its associates and to the communities where it operates,” said Robert Walter, Cardinal Health Founder. “This has been a 50 year journey of growth.”
“We have all grown up and thrived together – our family, our company and the City of Dublin. What a wonderful place to raise a family and a business. We have enjoyed and benefited from the spirit of growth and partnership that Dublin fosters,” Walter said.
“The admiration this community has for you is really unmatched,” Mayor Chris Amorose Groomes said to Mr. Walter. “Your ability to give back and pay forward at the same time is remarkable.”
“Cardinal is deeply committed to all of the communities in which our employees live and where we do business, but we’re really proud to call Dublin our home and it is my home, too, personally,” said Mike Kauffman, CEO of Cardinal Health. “I want to thank you for your continued partnership.”
Cardinal Health is celebrating its golden anniversary with a year of giving back. Employees are supporting causes that mean the most to them across four areas; equity, environment, health and hunger.
