Dublin’s popular Paint the Plow tradition is going virtual this year. The City typically partners with Dublin City Schools to have art classes paint plows, but that was not possible this school year due to COVID-19. Instead, students have the opportunity to design their own plow from home.
Those interested in participating should print off our official plow picture, decorate it and submit it by January 31. The winning design will be featured on one of the City’s plows! Finalists will be posted on the City’s Facebook page in early February, and the design with the most likes will be the winner.
Anyone 18 or younger who lives in the City of Dublin or within the Dublin City School district is welcome to participate in the contest. Finalists will be selected in each of the following age groups:
- Elementary (kindergarten – 5th grade, ages 5-10)
- Middle school (grades 6-8, ages 11-13)
- High school (grades 9-12, ages 14-18)
To be considered, artwork must:
- be original
- include nothing derogatory, profane or obscene
- be non-partisan
- not incorporate movie or television characters or any other copyrighted material
By submitting your artwork to the City of Dublin, you consent to it being shared and reprinted by the City on its website, social media platforms and City plow, if your design is selected as the winner.
