(Dublin) – The City of Dublin’s first ever Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) has received the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The PAFR for year ending December 31, 2017 is an easy-to-read, summarized version of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), a 249-page document with detailed financial statements, notes and schedules as well as statistical information.
In order to receive the award, a government unit must publish a PAFR whose contents conform to program standards of creativity, presentation, understandability, and reader appeal.

The City also received GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its CAFR for the 29th consecutive year, as well as GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. And furthering its commitment to transparency, the City joined the Ohio Treasurer’s OhioCheckbook.com in 2019, providing an interactive way to access financial data.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL and Washington, DC. Through its awards program, GFOA encourages governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles and prepare financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure.
