Maintenance of traffic plans for the construction of the S.R. 161/Riverside Drive roundabout will be presented to Dublin City Council on Monday, December 8, at their regularly scheduled meeting.
According to a Staff memo, analysis on the more advanced level of design and engineering plans for the roundabout, and full consideration of safety issues, an option (Option 1) emerged which would allow modified north/south (Riverside Dr.) movements and east/west (S.R. 161) movements to remain open during the construction of the roundabout. By maintaining traffic north/south on Riverside Drive and east/west on S.R. 161 the roundabout will be open in June 2016. The Riverside Drive bypass will be the final phase of the project to be completed in the fall of 2016.
Staff is recommending Option 1 (a) (accelerated construction) to Dublin City Council for consideration.
