(Dublin OH) – The vast majority of Dublin residents say the City is an excellent place to live according to the results from two recent surveys.
The City’s biennial Community Attitudes Survey was conducted via telephone by Saperstein Associates in February. The Community Attitudes Survey follows a National Citizen Survey conducted in November 2012.
In the Community Attitudes Survey, eight out of 10 residents consider Dublin an excellent place to live. In fact, 98 percent of respondents said Dublin is an excellent or good place to live. In addition, 94 percent consider Dublin an excellent or good place to work. In the National Citizen Survey, 98 percent of residents rated the City as an excellent or good place to live.
The surveys are designed to gauge residents’ perceptions of local government. The City uses the data in guiding policy decisions to enhance and continue high-quality service delivery.
“We are asking residents to tell us how we are doing,” said Director of Community Relations Sandra Puskarcik. “The information is extremely valuable to tell us if we’re on the right course for our current planning efforts and in mapping out plans for the future.”
Puskarcik said the surveys help validate goals set by City Council. The Community Attitudes Survey listed nine potential community initiatives and encouraged residents to identify the highest priorities. Respondents cited improving traffic flow, implementing the Bridge Street District plan and improving the library as the top three.
“This research gives residents of Dublin a voice,” said Martin Saperstein, president of Saperstein Associates. “It allows the community to express opinions on myriad issues – and, in doing so, provides City officials important data as planning for the future continues.”
Results of the Community Attitudes Survey were presented to City Council at its April 8 meeting. The 2012 National Citizen Survey results are similar to the benchmark set in 2009. For more information on both surveys, including detailed reports, visit https://dublinohiousa.gov/living/city-surveys.
