The City of Dublin will be hosting a virtual public meeting on August 25, 2020, 6:30 – 8 p.m. to provide an update on planned U.S. 33/ S.R. 161/Post Road interchange improvements. This will be an opportunity for engineers to present design concepts, collect public feedback and answer questions. Details on how to participate in the meeting will be forthcoming.
This rural interchange is at the center of substantial local and regional economic development. Current and future growth is putting enormous pressure on this inadequate facility, and the current design does not meet the diverse vehicular needs of this thriving area..
The US 33/SR 161/Post Road interchange is ready for construction, with the significant investment and project development assistance of Union County and the City of Dublin. The project is currently in the design phase and construction is tentatively planned to begin in 2022.
This project will include two new loop ramps that will eliminate the existing left turn conflicts to enter the U.S. 33 ramps. The intersections with both the east and west ramp terminals will be controlled via multi-lane roundabouts that will ensure viable traffic operations well into the future.
We thank all those who submitted letters of support for this project. Thanks to investments of the City of Dublin, Union County, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) and area developers, these improvements are now 100% funded.
