Based on the popular Citizen U, an academy for adult residents to learn about the day-to-day operations of the city, the City of Dublin is proud to launch an all-new, teen-oriented program.
For one week this summer, the City plans to trial “Citizen U Jumpstart” for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. Students will get to go behind the scenes at the City to learn about different aspects of the City of Dublin’s operations, hear from staff members about their unique pathways to service and be introduced to potential career choices.
Citizen U Jumpstart
- July 11-15
- 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- There is no fee to participate
City staff will lead classes focusing on everything from financial practices, to engineering, to law enforcement, economic development, recreation practices, communications and more. Students will leave the experience with an improved understanding of Dublin’s operations, form of government and the talent it demands of its public servants, as well as a sense of civic engagement opportunities for them.
