270-33 Interchange ImprovementProject
In1966,whenDublinwashome to670 residents, stateand federal fundsbuilt the I-270/US33 inter-
change. Today, Dublin ishome tomore than43,000 residents and70,000employees; 27,700of those
Dublinemployeesworkwithin the immediately impactedareaof this interchange.
Re-investment in this interchangewill haveeconomic impact beyondDublin’sborders.Marysville
andUnionCountybusinesseshave19,500employeeswho liveandworknear the interchange; 3,000
Honda, 3,000 Industrial Parkwayand800ScottsMiracle-Groemployeesuse this interchangedaily. At
buildout (20years), 44,600new jobs areanticipated in the interchangearea, spurringanadditional
$2.8billion in futureprivate investment.
The state’sTransportationReviewAdvisoryCouncil (TRAC),Mid-OhioRegional PlanningCommission,
Dublinand theOhioDepartment ofTransportationcommitted to sharingportionsof the$95million
improvement and listed theproject as a toppriority for all CentralOhio roadconstructionprojects.
EmeraldParkway
InAugust, 2013, the jointwideningproject of EmeraldParkwaybetween theCityofDublinand the
Cityof Columbuswas completedwith theopeningof two roundabouts and laneadditionsbetween
RingsRoadandTuttleCrossingBoulevard.
InDecember, DublinCityCouncil awarded thecontract for theeighthandfinal phaseof Emerald
Parkway fromRiversideDrive toBillingsleyCreek. This last phaseof EmeraldParkwaywill open
upnearly115acresof land for commercial developmentwith I-270visibilityandSawmill Road
interchangeaccess. It alsowill provide increasedmobility fromSawmill Road toTuttleCrossing.
The$8millionproject is expected tobecompleted inNovember 2014.
Other significant infrastructure improvements included:
Twoadditional roundabouts, oneatHyland-CroyandBrand roads andBrandandCoffman
roadsbringing theCity’s total to16.
Thefifthandfinalwater tower, onDublinRoad just southofGlickRoad,was completed.
TheCoffmanRoadentrance to theDublinCommunityRecreationCenterwas straightened
andutility linesburied.
Anadditionalmileof bikepathconnectionswas completed:
DublinRoadnear RingsRoad; at thenewHyland-Croyand
BrandRoad roundabout; street crossingatAbbieGlenBlvd
andBrandRoad; OakPark subdivision to theGlacier Ridge
MetroParkandGlacier RidgeMetroParkpropertyeast of
Hyland-Croyand southof BrandRoad.
