Addedapatio to theDublinCommunityRecreationCenter.
Completed theconstructionof IGS
Park includingabikepath, benches, picnicnodes, and stabilized the streambanks.
ReceivedOhio
Department ofTransportationandCityofDublinapprovals for theconstructionof EmeraldParkway
BridgeParkprovidingaccess to theSciotoRiver and stabilizing the riverbank.
CoffmanPark
Expansionproject construction started.
The$3.5Mproject includes landscaping, burying the
overheadutilities, realigning theoldPost Roadentrance for a smoother transition toCommerce
Parkway, installing threepedestrianbridges andgrading to removeany tracesof theoldPost Road
roadbed.
SciotoPark stairswere improvedand the restroom renovationproject began.
Improvements toCramersCrossingbeganandWellingtonPark improvementsweredesigned.
NatureEducation
Receivedour thirdconsecutive recertificationwith theNationalWildlife
Federation; Dublin remained theonlycommunity inOhiowith the
“CommunityHabitatCertification.
Taught natureeducationclasses to
4,500participants.
TheOhioCommunityWildlifeCooperativeheld its
third stateconferencewith100participants from61 local governments.
Constructionof theDublinCommunityGardens and installationof
garden irrigationwas completed. Coordinated twoNeighborhood
RecyclingEventswithnearly13,000poundsdiverted from the landfill.
Volunteers tended to150Bluebirdboxes anddedicated750hours
planting,mulchingand removing invasive species fromparks.
Forestry
InApril, EarthDaywas celebratedatDeer RunElementarySchool.
Nearly3,000hourswasdedicated
toplanting treesonDublin’s streets, green spaces andmedians; 773 treeswereplantedand the
average sizeof thecaliper of the treewas 2”.
EmeraldAshBorers continued to receiveattention
withbi-annual injections.
Nearly540hourswere spent inspecting trees affectedby the sidewalk
replacement program; one fulltimeemployee spent almost fourmonths inspectingandcalculating
tree root loss.
Horticulture
40flatsof pansieswereplanted inHistoricDublin.
Handled the installationof newor replacements
of 193 trees and340 shrubs.
Mulched25parks andHistoricDublin;more than1,500yardsofmulch
was applied.
