(Dublin, Ohio) — We are proud to share the Abbey Theater of Dublin, Ohio’s appearance at the Theater Roundtable Celebration on Sunday, April 30. Adding to its already impressive 2023 season, the Abbey was honored with a Citation by the Central Ohio Theater Critics. This citation was granted to the theater as a hub for the arts to playwrights, actors and artists from around the world and all ages. In addition, Abbey Theater Technician Jim Ziolkowski received a Standing Ovation Award, and the Abbey received the Theater Innovation Award for its Adaptive Extravaganza and programming. This award is presented to an innovative arts and cultural project that helped uplift or provide relief to others within the community.
“We are honored to be featured and celebrated at the Theater Roundtable!” says Abbey Theater Supervisor Joe Bishara. “The Abbey is a space where all are welcome and encouraged to share their stories, talents and individuality.”
The theater has featured three new production world premieres in the first four months of its 2023 season. Spectators can expect five additional world premieres hitting the stage this summer, three of which at the Otterbein Playwrights Collective, where pre-professional actors practice and perform plays written by Otterbein University creative writing students from June 30 to July 2. The Abbey will also host the Annual South Asian Theater Festival, July 8- 16.
