Dublin Works: Innovation, Business & Work

As Dublin reflects on more than 200 years of history, one thing that stands out is the hard work and dedication that went into creating the Emerald City of 50,000 residents we see before us today.

From humble foundations, citizens have toiled in various roles, adjusting to their surroundings and creating an unlimited future.

Early settlers were drawn to the area, largely because of its location near the Scioto River and by other natural resources that were necessities for their survival and modes of trade and transportation. Through visionary planning and development, businesses have continued to choose Dublin for its location, well-designed transportation networks and the ability to conduct business on a global scale.

The mid- to late 1900s was a pivotal era for the City of Dublin defined by vision, momentum and possibility as the community transitioned from a village to a city. Interstate 270 connected Dublin to the Columbus region and beyond, opening doors to growth and opportunity. Major employers, including Ashland Chemical, established headquarters in Dublin, helping to create a strong and resilient local economy and opening the doors for others to follow, such as Cardinal Health, The Wendy’s Company and Stanley Steemer.

The Chamber and the City: 50 Years of Partnership

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, the Dublin Chamber of Commerce continues to advocate and support businesses through events such as the Work in Dublin Student Job Career & Internship Fair, held March 20 at Dublin Scioto High School. With more than 600 high school students in attendance, the fair connects businesses and students for part-time positions, mentorships and internships.

This year, the Chamber will give a special nod to America 250 events during its annual Corporate Charity Cup, which offers a friendly competition among businesses and their employees while raising money for local charities. During this year’s competition, June 11-12, in addition to athletic pursuits, teams will have a chance to perform patriotic songs earning points for performances and costume design and also may compete in a Fourth of July-themed cookie and cake decorating competition.

The Chamber will team with the City of Dublin’s Economic Development Department to present  Business Impact Breakfast – AI: What’s Working, What Isn’t and Why, April 29, at The Country Club at Muirfield Village, to help companies navigate the future of technological innovations.

Dublin’s Economic Development Team: Open for Business

The Economic Development team continues to show its appreciation for the businesses that help shape the City’s success. Gratitude on the Go is coming to the Metro Office and Blazer Research Districts April 8 when the team invites businesses and their employees to enjoy a free coffee while connecting with members of Economic Development, Community Recreation Center, Outreach & Engagement and Transportation & Mobility to show thanks for helping Dublin thrive.

As the nation reflects on its journey, so does Dublin, grounded in its history, confident in its values and ready for what comes next.
