O’Callaghan Moving On, Following Nearly 13 Years of Service
DUBLIN, Ohio — October 12, 2026 —City Manager Megan O’Callaghan has submitted her resignation, effective November 13, 2026, concluding nearly 13 years of service to the City of Dublin as part of a 30-year career in public service. O’Callaghan joined the City of Dublin in 2014 as Public Service Director during a pivotal period of growth and development. At the time, the City was poised to begin designing and building the infrastructure needed to support the Bridge Street District redevelopment, work that became her primary focus for several years. She subsequently served as Director of Public Works and Deputy City Manager before becoming Dublin’s sixth City Manager in October 2022, a role she held for four years. Across these roles, her expanding leadership responsibilities positioned her to help guide many of the initiatives that shaped Dublin’s growth and quality of life.
Under O’Callaghan’s leadership and with the guidance of City Council, Dublin advanced economic development, major infrastructure, technology, recreation, and land-development initiatives in support of the highest quality of life for Dublin residents. These included the Bridge Park development and its supporting infrastructure, including the Dublin Link pedestrian and bicycle bridge across the Scioto River. Her work also encompassed Connected Dublin and customer-service platforms such as GoDublin, SnowGo, and a mobile asset management system. She helped lead the City’s purchase of SportsOhio and the vision for a Premier Athletic and Recreation Campus, supported major investment by Dublin Methodist Hospital, Mount Carmel Dublin, and The Ohio State University’s Dublin campus, and helped expand the City’s footprint into Madison County through strategic land acquisition.
O’Callaghan also advanced high-quality city services. Working in partnership with the Steering Committee, O’Callaghan also helped advance the Envision Dublin Community Plan update, which City Council adopted in July 2024.
“The City of Dublin appreciates Megan’s contributions to the City. Throughout her tenure, we’ve accomplished great things for the City and its residents,” said Mayor Chris Amorose Groomes. “We look forward to continuing our work on behalf of the City’s residents and wish Megan well.”
“It has been an honor to serve the Dublin community during such a transformational period in the City’s history,” said O’Callaghan. “Over nearly 13 years, I have had the opportunity to work alongside talented and dedicated City employees, engaged residents, businesses, community organizations, and regional partners who care deeply about Dublin and its future. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to this community. I am excited about the next chapter of my career.”
O’Callaghan’s career has been distinguished by professional achievement, public service, and leadership at the local, regional, and state levels. A licensed Professional Engineer and attorney, she is also an ICMA Credentialed Manager and a Columbus Business First Woman of Influence recognized with a “Trailblazer” award. At the state level, she was appointed by the governor to the Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors (PEPS), where she served as chair and as the board’s designee to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) Nominating Council. Her regional leadership has included serving as vice chair of the Central Ohio Mayors and Managers Association (COMMA), and chairing the NW 33 Innovation Corridor Council of Governments, which leads the Beta District innovation region, and Broadband Access Ohio. An alumna of The Ohio State University, she also chairs the university’s Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering Advisory Board
