Self-Defense

Self-Defense with the Dublin Police

The Dublin Police Department offers a self-defense class for anyone age 18 and older. This four-hour course combines classroom-style presentations with hands-on exercises to practice basic self-defense techniques. All participants receive a personal alarm device upon completing the program.

Get involved with a hands-on session from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Dublin Justice Center. Register online for these upcoming classes. Sign-up links will become available throughout the year.

Public Safety U

Public Safety U Is Here

Ever wondered what really happens when you call 9-1-1? Curious how police, fire, EMS and dispatch coordinate in real time, when every second matters?

Public Safety U pulls back the curtain. This brand new, one-of-a-kind program brings together the experts of the Dublin Police Department, Washington Township Fire Department and the Northwest Regional Emergency Communications Center (NRECC) to show you exactly how Dublin’s safety network works — from the first call to the final response.

Over 10 weeks, participants will engage in immersive classroom sessions and interactive, hands-on experiences across all four disciplines. You’ll learn how emergency calls are received and managed, explore police operations and decision-making, see how fire crews respond and operate on scene and gain insight into real-world EMS care.

Go behind the scenes. Meet the professionals. See how preparation, partnership and precision come together to protect our community every day.

This isn’t just a class — it’s public safety in action. Join us at Public Safety U.

Applications Open May 1, 2026

The class is open to the public; however, Dublin residents are given preference when selecting the class roster. All applicants must be 18 years or older and will undergo a background check prior to acceptance.

Public Records Request Overview

In order to support faster response and better tracking of requests, the City of Dublin uses JustFOIA to collect, respond to and manage public information requests.

Why JustFOIA?

JustFOIA is a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) online application that helps streamline the open records request process for the community and improve efficiencies in getting requested information quickly and accurately.

The application lets community members submit requests for all city records, including police reports. Commonly requested information includes accident reports, copies of resolutions and body-camera video.
