AEP is currently replacing underground electric lines in the City of Dublin. Currently, the work is happening along the Carnoustie Drive and Ayrshire Drive corridor, including the cul de sacs. This work is part of a system reliability and upgrade process to address the large number of power outages experienced in the Muirfield area over the last few years.
Phase 1 was completed last fall and focused on Carnoustie Drive, between Muirfield Drive and Greenstone Point.
Phases 2 and 3 are ongoing now and will occur in the following areas:
– Continuing along Carnoustie Drive to Aryshire Drive
– Aryshire Drive to the Aryshire cul de sac
– Through Birgham Court N and Birgham Court S
AEP customers should receive an email, a voicemail and this letter in advance of the upcoming work. As the project progresses, notices will be provided to affected addresses.
Next steps for those effected:
- AEP will work with Ohio Utility Protection Services to mark public utilities on your property such as electric, gas, phone, cable, water, sewer, etc.
- It’s your responsibility to have your private underground facilities located and marked 2 days prior to the scheduled start day. This includes items such as dog fences, private lighting, septic tanks, irrigation systems, etc. You can contact an underground locating company to assist you with this necessary and important step in the process.
Customers are encouraged to contact AEP as the first point of contact for addressing any concerns or issues with the underground replacement work. The project contact is Angela L. Lewis | 614-601-3019. For general AEP questions, call 800-672-2231.
