City of Dublin to Dedicate Bike Pump Track as New Park Feature

(Dublin, Ohio) — With May being National Bike Month, the City of Dublin invites the public to a dedication ceremony to celebrate the Bike Pump Track at Emerald Fields Park. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. on May 20 with demonstrations by Purple Heart Racing group members. City of Dublin Mayor Chris Amorose Groomes will share remarks before cutting a ceremonial ribbon to commemorate the track’s opening. Complimentary popsicles will be available for guests to enjoy.

Construction of the track began last spring and was completed in the fall of 2023 as part of the City’s Capital Improvements Plan (CIP). A pump track is a course of rollers, banked turns and features designed for bicyclists who generate momentum through up-and-down movements. Instead of pedaling, riders “pump” through the track.

“We are excited to officially dedicate the Bike Pump Track as an amenity in our City of Dublin Parks,” says City of Dublin Director of Parks and Recreation Matt Earman. “Bike month is a great way to kick off summer activities with our residents and visitors.”

City of Dublin Parks and Recreation encourages guests interested in attending the event to bike to the park for a chance to try out the pump track after the ceremony.
