Former Ohio State quarterback and MLB draft pick tapped to lead expanding Dublin, OH sports complex
SportsOhio has announced the selection of Joe Bauserman as its new General Manager, marking a significant milestone in the venue’s history. SportsOhio’s current 100-acre sports park is home to indoor and outdoor soccer, football, baseball, lacrosse, and volleyball, along with a year-round driving range, par-3 course, and FootGolf, with expansion plans across an additional 140-plus acres.
“I am thrilled to lead our team at SportsOhio,” Bauserman said. “This facility impacts the lives of people at any age, ability, or competitive level. We will always strive to create an unforgettable experience for those who visit our facility and the great city of Dublin. SportsOhio will be a first-class facility for the local community and the sports tourism industry alike.”
Bauserman, a former fourth-round MLB draft pick and Ohio State quarterback, brings over 15 years of experience in facility management, athletics, real estate, and operational leadership. After a successful athletics career, Bauserman transitioned into coaching high school football and baseball. He also has over a decade of experience in individual instruction to young athletes.
Most recently, Bauserman served as the facility manager for a non-profit that supports adults with disabilities. In this role, he managed multiple properties, vendors, and maintenance teams while creating safe and accessible environments for those served.
Bauserman has managed indoor sports facilities, overseeing scheduling, equipment, programming, and daily operations and has extensive real estate experience, which includes new home builds, renovations, and managing rental properties.
“Joe’s extensive background in athletics and facility management made him a perfect candidate for this exciting position,” said Sports Facilities Companies (SFC) Vice President Scott Rodgers. “His experiences with the greater Dublin area as a former Ohio State student-athlete provides an instant connection to this community and its people. We are thrilled to have Joe leading the charge as we enhance the SportsOhio experience for the community and its visitors.”
SportsOhio is owned by the City of Dublin, which purchased the facility in 2024. City Manager Megan O’Callaghan applauded this leadership decision, noting it supports the City’s long-term vision for the site.
“SportsOhio is an important part of Dublin’s recreational landscape and a growing regional destination that supports our sports tourism economy,” said O’Callaghan. “We’re excited to welcome Joe Bauserman as General Manager and look forward to working together to advance our vision for a premier athletic and recreation campus that connects community, drives economic development and delivers a uniquely Dublin experience.”
As General Manager, Bauserman will oversee daily operations and maintenance while shaping the culture and long-term vision for SportsOhio. His focus includes a commitment to high-performing facilities, strong customer service, and team-focused leadership across sports, recreation, and community programs.
