The City of Dublin is committed to becoming the most sustainable global city of choice. Help the community achieve this goal by making your Independence Day celebration more eco-friendly with these simple and effective tips.
Skip the traffic! Take advantage of Dublin’s 150+ miles of shared-use paths, perfect for walking, biking or scootering with Veo e-scooters and e-bikes. Carpooling is another great way to reduce emissions. Bike parking for the Evening Celebration is conveniently located in front of Coffman High School.
Swap your single-use products for reusable party supplies. Rather than using plastic cutlery and plates, consider reusable dishes from home. If reusable isn’t an option, take advantage of the Hefty ReNew program to dispose of these hard-to-recycle items. To learn more about where to purchase Hefty ReNew bags and accepted items, visit hefty.com/hefty-renew.
Stay hydrated and reduce single-use plastic waste! Guests with a stadium or reserved table gate wristband can use the City’s free, clean and safe water refill station, located under the bleachers on the northwest side of the stadium.
Help keep recyclables out of the landfill. Recycling and trash bins are placed throughout the Coffman High School grounds and stadium. Use the blue bins for recyclables only. If you’re hosting at home, set up a clearly marked bin at a convenient location with a printout of acceptable materials.
Plan your meals to avoid spending more and having excessive leftovers. Use SWACO’s Guest-Imator tool to calculate how much food is needed. Offer reusable to-go containers for guests or compost any leftovers at the City of Dublin’s free and convenient compost drop-off location.
All waste collected at the Evening Celebration is sorted by Zero Waste Event Productions. In 2025, approximately 1,040 pounds of material were diverted from the landfill, up 14% from 2024. Thank you for helping reach the City’s sustainability goals!
