(Dublin, Ohio) — The Dublin Community Pool North will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 20, for precautionary cryptosporidium (crypto) treatment.
Franklin County Public Health contacted our staff about a potential exposure to crypto. Out of an abundance of caution, the City is following hyperchlorination treatment, which kills chlorine-resistant organisms like crypto.
The North Pool is expected to reopen Wednesday, Aug. 21, after treatment. For updates visit: dublinohiousa.gov/recreation-services/aquatics.
The City of Dublin Community Pools are tested regularly by staff, the Franklin County Board of Health and our preventive water testing contractor.
We remind all patrons of the pools or spray fountain:
- Do not swim while experiencing diarrhea and for two weeks after recovery.
- Do not urinate or defecate in the water.
- Take a shower/bath before going in the water.
- Wash hands with soap and water after using the bathroom, changing diapers and before eating.
- Change diapers in a bathroom and not by the pool.
- Take small children on frequent bathroom breaks and check diapers often.
- Avoid swallowing water.
- Only swim diapers are permitted in Dublin facilities. Regular diapers are prohibited.
