Stormwater Maintenance Grant Pilot Program

About the Program

The Stormwater Basin Maintenance Grant Program is designed to provide funding assistance and technical guidance to the City of Dublin Homeowners and Civic Associations for the maintenance of City-owned stormwater basins that are privately maintained by the associations.

This program was approved in June 2021. Applicants may nominate retention or detention basins that are publicly owned and privately maintained for a one-time grant from the City of Dublin for qualifying maintenance projects.

Program Guidelines

To qualify, projects must involve City-owned, privately maintained stormwater basins located within the City of Dublin boundaries. Individual grant awards will range between $2,000-$10,000. An individual association is limited to no more than one grant award every five years. Each grant requires, at minimum, an equal match from the Applicant. Any project grants that are awarded will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the project, certification of costs and verification of compliance with all approved plans and standards of the Program.

The Public Services Committee will review applications and recommend grant award funding. The committee will then Forward these recommendations to the City Council for review and a final decision.

Application Process

Step 1

Applicants are required to fill out a Stormwater Maintenance Grant Pre-Application to determine eligibility for the project.

Spring Applications are due Jan. 3, 2025.

Fall Applications are due May 30, 2025.

Step 2

Pre-Application Meetings & Review

The Stormwater Maintenance Grant Program Manager will review all pre-applications and verify eligibility. Eligible applicants will be contacted to schedule a pre-application meeting.

The intent of these meetings is to assist with application procedures, explain financial considerations, address any project design issues, and identify/resolve any potential roadblocks or issues that may be present.

Step 3

Stormwater Maintenance Grant Submittal

Eligible applicants will receive an email with a link to complete an online Stormwater Maintenance Grant Application. Completed applications will include all required information, including any attachments to the form.

Spring Applications are due Jan. 31, 2025.

Fall Applications are due June 27, 2025.

Step 4

Project Review Process

Applicants will be notified if their application will move forward for review/approval. The Grant Review Team may request revisions as deemed necessary. If additional documentation is requested, a revised submittal deadline will be shared with the applicants.

The Public Services Committee (PSC) will review the applications and make a recommendation of approval to City Council.

Dublin City Council reviews and approves Stormwater Maintenance Grant applications.

Applicants will be notified of PSC and City Council meeting dates.

Step 5

Project Approval Process

Applicants may start their projects once City Council approves of the grant request.

Upon completion of the project, staff will inspect the project to ensure compliance with all City standards and guidelines.

Once the project passes inspection, reimbursement for the requested funds will be processed by the City’s Finance Department, which may request final invoices, proof of payment, and a completed W-9 form.
