Welcome the Holiday Season at the Annual Dublin Tree Lighting Ceremony

(Dublin, Ohio) — Shimmer and sparkle with the City of Dublin at our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Coffman Park on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Families are invited to celebrate the holiday season at this festive and free event. Santa and Mrs. Claus will join the excitement at 6:15 p.m. to light the holiday tree.
 
Guests will enjoy activities to get in the holiday spirit, including:

  • Caroling
  • A Trackless Train
  • Stilt Walkers
  • Holiday Characters
  • Petting Zoo
  • Dance Performances
  • Ice Sculpting
  • Games
  • Holiday Crafts
 
The Abbey Theater of Dublin will also perform a short portion from its upcoming production of ‘Madeline’s Christmas,’ the page-to-stage musical adaptation of the beloved children’s book by Ludwig Bemelmans.
 
Hot chocolate and food will be available for purchase from vendors Dos Hermanos, Chik–fil-A, The Dublin Rotaract Club and Apple Dumpling Gang.
 
Kids and their families may write letters to Santa using the North Pole Mailbox at the event. Children can also drop their letters in Santa’s mailbox at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) after the Tree Lighting to guarantee on-time delivery to the North Pole before Christmas.
 
The Dublin Police Department will be collecting donations for its Fill-a-Cruiser toy drive. Community members can bring new, unwrapped toys, gift cards and monetary donations. To help represent all age groups, please consider donating presents for children in two age categories: newborn to 10 years old and 11 to 17 years old.
 
Parking Information: 
Free parking is available in Coffman Park and at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (5600 Post Road).
During the event, DCRC visitors must enter from Post Road or Downpatrick Road, off Tara Hill Drive. The portion of Coffman Park Drive in front of the Coffman Park Pavilion will also be closed.
