Sustainable Saturday Brings Drive-Through Recycling to Dublin

(Dublin, Ohio) — The City of Dublin will host Sustainable Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 11 at the Dublin Service Center, 6555 Shier Rings Road, offering a convenient, drive-through opportunity to recycle and responsibly dispose of hard-to-recycle items.

Sustainable Saturday helps keep waste out of landfills by providing safe, accessible options for materials not accepted through standard curbside collection. The event is open to the public. Last year’s event saw more than 1,600 cars participate, highlighting the community’s strong commitment to sustainability.

Accepted items include Styrofoam, electronics, compost, household hazardous waste and documents for secure shredding. Participants can also drop off unused or expired prescription medications and donate gently used items to Goodwill at this one-stop shop.

Participants should remain in their vehicles while staff unload materials at designated stations, making the process quick and efficient.

To ensure a smooth experience, participants are encouraged to follow posted guidelines and prepare items for easy unloading. Specific requirements for certain materials may apply. Please arrive no earlier than 8 a.m.

“Sustainable Saturday is one way Dublin continues working toward its vision of being the most sustainable city of choice, making it easy for the community to reduce waste and make environmentally responsible decisions,” said Emily Goliver, Operations Administrator/Sustainability. “It also supports the Dublin Sustainability Plan adopted by City Council in October 2025, which serves as a framework for advancing sustainable and equitable practices across the community. A key focus of that plan is achieving zero waste by expanding recycling opportunities and improving accessibility, and events like this help residents take part in that effort in a simple, convenient way.”
