(Dublin, Ohio) — The City of Dublin SnowGo Warriors prepare to deploy as winter weather kicks off the new year. The City continues to monitor the incoming weather expected for Sunday, Jan. 5, using its panoramic Vue Robotics camera stations. This technology provides information on air and surface temperature, wind speed, direction and humidity, allowing the SnowGo Warriors to plan roadway treatment ahead of time.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to use the SnowGo dashboard to follow the snow removal process before their commute on Monday, Jan. 6. The dashboard allows users to track snow plows like Buzz Iceclear and Snowfulupagus in real-time.
The City of Dublin has a curb-to-curb snow removal policy. Dangerous hills, curves, and bridges are monitored and treated as necessary throughout an event. All public streets within Dublin receive snow removal service according to the following priorities that have been established based on traffic volumes and speeds:
Priority 1
Major arteries are plowed first. If weather conditions persist, these streets will continue to receive treatment. Blowing snow and freezing roads once the snow has thawed can require continued treatment.
Priority 2
Main roads through subdivisions and streets connecting two or more Priority 1 streets will be plowed and salted once Priority 1 streets have received treatment
Priority 3
Residential streets, courts, cul-de-sacs and alleys will be serviced once Priority 1 and Priority 2 streets are cleared.
The City asks for residents and businesses to follow these steps during a winter event:
- Keep Your Distance: Don’t crowd the plow
- Don’t pull in front of a plow
- Do not attempt to pass a plow
- Remove parked cars from the street
- Keep children away from plows
- Do not shovel or plow snow into City streets
- Do not shovel or plow snow around fire hydrants or mailboxes
The Dublin Community Recreation Center will remain open to the public unless Franklin County declares a Level 2 snow emergency. DCRC members are encouraged to check the City of Dublin website for updates on programming closures. Keep the DCRC weather hotline number handy at 614.410.4946.
