(Dublin, OH) The City of Dublin’s Fleet has been awarded the 5-Star Green Fleet Status from Clean Fuels Ohio for its advancement in alternative fuel vehicle deployments and initiatives. The City had previously earned a 1-star rating in 2012 and a 3-star rating in 2015.
Darryl Syler, Director of Fleet Management for the City, will be accepting this award on September 19 at this year’s Midwest Green Transportation Forum & Expo, which will be held at the Marriot Columbus.
“This designation is the reflection of the hard work and dedication of the City of Dublin Fleet Management staff and the support of our City leaders, including City Council,” Syler says.
Eligible fleets are scored on five categories to determine if they qualify for a star rating from Clean Fuels Ohio. The scoring is based on pollutant reductions and efficiency gains in the following categories: volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, fuel efficiency, particulate matter and nitrogen oxide.
Since 2008, 92 fleets in Ohio have been certified by Clean Fuels Ohio, and 207,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions have been reduced, making the City of Dublin’s fleet one of the leaders in green fuel reform.
