The City of Dublin will be participating in the Light Ohio Blue campaign, which is expanding this year to honor medical personnel in addition to the law enforcement community.
For the week of May 8-15, the City will display blue lighting in several prominent areas, including The Dublin Link, City Hall and Dublin Community Recreation Center. Residents and businesses are encouraged to participate by placing a blue light bulb in their porch light, garage lights or in a window throughout the week. Blue bulbs are available at most businesses that sell light bulbs, including local hardware, grocery and home improvement stores. Flags will also be lowered to half-staff on May 15, which has been designated National Peace Officers Memorial Day.
Light Ohio Blue coincides with National Police Week, which pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. This year, the blue lights will also represent medical personnel to recognize their bravery during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Participate in this campaign to show respect for officers and medical personnel by going “blue.” Pictures and video can be shared and viewed on social media with the hashtags #LightOhioBlue and #LightDublinBlue.
