(Dublin, Ohio) — In partnership with federal and regional agencies, Dublin Police assisted in the arrest of a human trafficking suspect in Dublin this week.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Ohio, Timothy Wright, 50, was charged Sept. 1 with federal counts, including producing and possessing child pornography and enticing minors. Dublin Police and members of the Delaware Tactical Unit took Wright into custody Aug. 31 at his home in the 4300 block of Wyandotte Woods Boulevard.
Collaborating with several partner agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, Dublin Police investigators conducted surveillance, assisted with the execution of search warrants, and ultimately coordinated with other regional partners to arrest Wright without incident.
“This arrest demonstrates the Dublin Police Department’s commitment to protecting residents and holding accountable people who victimize our most vulnerable citizens,” Chief Justin Páez said. “This also shows the value of being able to combine resources alongside other law enforcement partners in order to bring justice to these victims.”
Continued education is critical for our community’s ongoing human trafficking awareness and prevention efforts. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children explains how minors can be exploited in person and online and how to identify signs of possible abuse. The Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood also provides resources to combat child sex trafficking.
If you or someone you know needs assistance, the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1.888.373.7888 is available 24/7. If you are in immediate danger, call the Dublin Police at 911.
