The Washington Township Fire Department is hosting a memorial service in recognition of the lives lost on the 20th anniversary of 9/11/01. No day has greater significance to the fire service than 9/11, when 343 FDNY firefighters died in the line of duty – a single day that forever changed a profession, and the world.

The 30-minute ceremony will honor the 343 firefighters, 2,507 civilians, 72 law enforcement officers, 10 emergency medical workers, and 55 military service personnel who lost their lives, or gave their lives saving others.
