The Lime bike share pilot program in the City of Dublin has now ended. Lime determined that suburban environments are not fitting well with their current business model.
This pilot was extremely helpful for the City as we continue to evaluate the future of mobility options in Dublin. It was piloted at no cost to the City and helped us gather significant data on usage, including high-demand areas and time periods. We will use this data to help as we explore other bike share options. We are now looking at alternatives, including the COGO docked system used in Columbus (www.cogobikeshare.com/ ) and Upper Arlington. While docked stations do require some investment in infrastructure, we may find that it is a system that will better serve the Dublin community. As we evaluate these options, we now have invaluable data from the Lime pilot, which will help us make a better informed decision in recommending the next course of action.
