(Dublin, Ohio) Dublin City Council has approved an incentives package to help Air Force One, Inc. keep its headquarters and business operations in Dublin. The company has been actively looking at real estate options throughout the region.
Air Force One was founded in 1984 by Dublin native, Bill Guy. The company specializes in building automation and temperature control, with capabilities ranging from heating and air condition to engineering, refrigeration piping, water treatment and project services.
As they continue to expand their services across the country, they require additional office space and storage. Located at 5810 Shier Rings Road, the company is currently leasing a portion of the City’s former Development Building at 5800 Shier Rings Road, but the company continues to need additional space. The City has since vacated the 5800 Building.
This project results in the retention of 107 jobs and the creation of 17 net new jobs located in Dublin by the end of 2023.
The offer is conditional on the completed purchase and occupancy of 5800 Shier Rings Rd. from the City of Dublin.
The Economic Development Agreement proposed is a four-year, 12% performance incentive on withholdings collected (2020-2023), capped at $73,000 for the term of the agreement. The City expects to net approximately $391,000 of income tax over the term of this development agreement.
“This incentives package is a win-win, providing the City with a ready buyer for the former Development Building and keeping a locally-established and growing business here in Dublin,” says Colleen Gilger, Economic Development Director for the City of Dublin.
Council voted unanimously in favor of the incentives at its August 10, 2020 meeting.
